Woman and the Star of Life

Christmas Thoughts

More than exchanging gifts, Christmas is the real thanksgiving day for the gift of persons in our life.

The Star of Bethlehem points to the most important person ever borne by a woman: Jesus, the Word made flesh. He is the Bright Star that brightens the darkness of human night. With him are all the other stars that, in the background, also make life worth living for and truly being grateful for - persons we love and persons who love us.

Star of Bethlehem from Mary Bea Sullivan.

To all persons I love and love me, together with all persons who, one way or another, touched my life and are touched by my life , including readers near and far . . . thank you for being part of my life and making me part of your life. I wish and pray for God's precious blessings for each one of you.

Happy and Blessed Christmas!

Joan Baez

Beloved Woman , when still a young college graduate and spending Christmas at a hillside vacation house of a friend in Baguio City with closest friends, folk singers serenaded us with carols and capping the night with a song that repeated the line "May you stay forever young". For days and weeks I kept humming the song to myself, evidently touched by the message and the melody. And when I asked about the song or who sang it, no one can tell me. Apparently, it was not contemporary then. No internet yet where I could search for answers. From time to time the memory comes back and haunt me with the song.

Joan Baez picture from Amoeba.com .

Just a few days ago, after decades, I was stunned when while surfing the internet I came across "Forever Young" at You Tube and when I watched and listened I instantly fell in love with the songstress behind the song. Though the name is not new ("We Shall Overcome" was sung in Holy Masses of the 70s), her reality came to me with the force of fresh discovery, exhilaration, joy and a mixture of nostalgia and serendipity.

Below is the Video of Forever Young by Joan Baez, may you enjoy listening; and may you stay young in mind, heart and spirit forever . . .

Forever Young

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
And may you stay forever young

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
And may you stay forever young

Forever young forever young
May you stay forever young

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
And may you have a firm foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
And may you stay forever young

Forever young forever young
May you stay forever young

.

Below are just a few of the words of wisdom from this woman of beauty, principle, courage, influence and dedication to humanity and her art - an exciting and touching woman to listen to and know - taken from About.com:Women's History

"My concern has always been for the people who are victimized, unable to speak for themselves and who need outside help."

"Action is the antidote to despair."

"All serious daring starts from within."

"Instead of getting hard ourselves and trying to compete, women should try and give their best qualities to men - bring them softness, teach them how to cry."

"You don't get to choose how you're going to die. Or when. You can decide how you're going to live now."

Most Lovable of Woman

Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary! It is a joy to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, the most lovable and most humble of woman, whose prayer "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." (Luke 1:38, RSV) is the epitome of humble, loving submission and obedience to God.

Woman of Music

Beloved Woman, you came at a time when my heart was longing for home and our destiny since then had been intertwined, stranger though am I to you. You will for all time be making music which I for all time will be listening again and again. Your music makes my life full of deep joy that comes with enchantment and oneness with all that I treasure and cherish.

Homecoming is my doorway to a whole new world, ethereal yet so real, heavenly yet so earthy, divine yet so human. Indeed music is the language of the spirit, but in the same vein its vibration is the vibration of matter, the flesh, nature, the world; and your music catalyzes the oneness of being in my heart. May the music of my spirit born by the prayer of my heart, through some mysterious alchemy of the spheres, reach and touch you with grateful love and fondness for all the gifts of music and song springing forth from the creative power of your love.

Beloved Woman of Music, Thank you!

Woman of Global Heart

Beloved Woman, you are a woman of global heart. You have dedicated your life in upholding the human rights of the poorest and the most vulnerable beyond the limits of your national home and “addressed issues of international justice”; engaging with the challenges it entail whenever you can, wherever there is need across the world. The range of your heart’s reach awakens in me such depth of awe, respect, admiration, reverence, and love that entrains my heart and spirit to you and all that you advocate. I pray that the energy of God needed to further release the power of your vision flow profusely in all you are concerned with and that you be rewarded with seeing your vision realized even beyond what you hope for. There is joy right now in the reality of your global heart pulsating in women with similar heartbeats, scattered and spreading towards the different national, regional, local, community spheres of various countries. I pray that your Ethical Global Initiative translate into Ethical National Initiative of every government and nations of the world and that they be translated further into “truly effective collective action at national and international levels to secure those rights for everyone in our world, without distinction.”

Beloved woman, you who are spread across the face of the earth, may your heart find resonance with the heartbeat of the global heart and radiate a pulsation that will touch whoever find themselves within your range and reach and give birth to more offspring of justice and love.

Woman in Poetry

Beloved Woman, you have been in the heart and imagination of poets throughout the ages for indeed your essence has the power to touch, captivate, inspire, empower and give joy. You have graced me all my life and made it a joyful celebration for your presence in myriads of moments; and so I share to you this poem by e.e. cummings which expresses eloquently a slice of how and what it means:

"somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose

or if you wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the colour of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands"

Woman of Influence

Beloved Woman, you are a woman of influence, because of your heart’s focus and dedication to a vision of life committed to what is good and right, a vision that appeals to the good nature common to man and which still subsists in many. Your attractive power is encompassing as to draw ever growing followers, supporters and admirers so diverse but united by common hunger for naked truth and goodness (like "conservative principles and common sense solutions"). The compelling beauty and force of your inner vision which issues from and is empowered by the wellspring of intelligent faith captivates the minds and hearts of multitudes. You are indeed a woman of influence, moving other women and men to be powerful force for good in the lives of others and in their social sphere, indeed to be center of influence in their own right.

Beloved woman, you who are facing the ordinary, day to day challenge where the welfare of individuals are clearly and directly at stake and the needs and demands are crucial, you are a most powerful influence to make great difference in the lives of those who are within your reach. Know the joy of making a difference in the lives of others – whether to your husband, son, daughter, friend or other people you work for or work with and serve or your social group. Your power to influence is truly a matter of the heart – the compelling intelligence of love and compassion, which alone speaks to the reason of the heart. And in truth “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly . . . “ (Antoine de Saint-ExupĆ©ry) and penetrate with laser like vision the truth of who or where people are.

Woman of God

Beloved Woman, I have listened to you and heard you speak of the Fire of God’s Love, that is aflame in your heart. I heard how the Word of God is aflame in your whole being and in the words of your mouth; and with the disciples I say, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?"(Luke 24:32, NRSV And now am I so inspired that my utmost desire is to become a Living Flame of Love.

Beloved Woman, I close my eyes and see across the whole world multitudes whose hearts are on fire with the same fire of love flowing from the same wellspring of love from whom comes the words and prayer of love that have risen from your heart to your lips and through your writings. And I delight in what my heart sees; I rejoice for you and with you. You are likewise blessed among women.

Beloved woman, you who have remain unsung hero, hidden saint except to those who drink from the cup of your day to day kindness and faithful love in season or out of season, in joy and in sorrow; you whose hearth never burns out despite the challenge of daily living; you whose life is a fireside where warmth issues forth to those you love and cherish within your home and beyond; know that whoever you are, you live and love fired by the same Sacred Heart whose flame of love makes us all one in Him. We are bound by the same basic element – the fire of God’s love.

Beloved Woman, your greatness looms large in life yesterday, today and for always. And your greatness lies in your fidelity to your inner meaning born out of your devotion to God and love for people.

I honor you for you choose greatness as your destiny - and that of your offspring.

Queen as Divine Gift

April 16, 2010

Beloved Woman, you are God’s gift to your people. For generations immemorial royalty has been in the heart and veins of your people; and the love and adulation of your people is proof of divine character in regal form of the living Queen. You have captured the heart of your people so powerfully and deeply. And even in the harsh reality of a fƦngsel your faithful poet continually sings your praises in the depth of his heart.

As you celebrate your special day today may your heart rejoice and acclaim: “My heart rejoices in God my savior . . . ”

Woman as Divine Gift

April 16, 2010

Beloved Woman, you are a gift to the man you love. You came first as a question mark in his life. And then time revealed the true nature of your presence in his life.

You are a divine gift whose inner richness gives him unending delight as he is blessed to have the sensitivity of heart to see even its subtle manifestation; every moment, day, week, month, and the years you live with him and in him, unveil divinity in woman form.

You make real for him, in the starkness of daily life, the concrete form of love. Unobtrusive, unassuming, gentle, like a rose in bloom, you unfurl petal for petal and shed love’s gracious fragrance; yet at times gently piercing with its thorns the unmindful, careless hand, to rivet his heart once more to the precious gift and relish with gratitude the wealth of her person.

Beloved Woman, you are the answer to the heart’s longing. With you the trinity of human-divine love is complete, and will remain always and forever.

Today let us celebrate your special day with deep gratitude to our God.

Woman of Shared Heart

Beloved Woman, I see you day by day in your ever striking beauty, fresh and new each day. I hear your voice echoing with hope as you bring reality to the attention of millions. You are especially endeared to me as you paint in words and images love's continuing triumph through those with hearts of gold who respond to the call of love and make lifetime difference to one and many particularly to those in the verge of hopelessness.

Beloved woman, you have become a national symbol and manifestation of countless others like you who in their own right touch lives with compassion and love, faithfully responding to the call of love in their respective homes, communities, institutions and elsewhere - wherever there is need for loving and life-giving action - and laboring even to the point of sacrifice to make life brighter for others who are otherwise eclipsed with gloom and suffering.

It is a great joy to see that the heart of woman has captured the consciousness of the nation and earned a secure place in the hallmark of history and posterity.

Beloved woman, you may not need it - you who already bask in the glory and radiance of love - but nevertheless, let me embrace you with the warmth of Him who is Love. And I pray His love fill you to the brim with whatever you may still deeply need in the depths of your heart.

Faithful Woman

Beloved woman, you have been faithful to the man you love, for 5 years, for 10 years, for 15 years, for 20 years, for 25 years – 31 years - for many more years and forever. You have been faithful to your sons, your daughters (of the flesh and the spirit), the daily demands of love and the relentless challenge of your personal calling.

With unfeigned gesture, so naturally graceful, you tend your special garden and cast seeds of dedication and greatness in the hearts and lives of the gifts entrusted to you as well as others who were sent or drawn to your inviting and welcoming life. And you watered these seeds with dew from dark nights of quiet tears and warm them with the daily shine of your joyful love for life. You alone know the bitter sweetness of what it takes to wait and give birth to a life full of anticipation and hope – a life that begets life in unseen waves of goodness and whose ripple reaches much beyond.

From where comes such strength of heart to keep faith with joy, peace and fortitude through all these years even amidst the grueling and the grinding movement in the wheel of life? It comes from the one you are faithful to - the Beloved who is faithful to you from the moment he conceives of you to grace his world. I know, for you are a woman of faith and prayer.

Beloved woman, you are my heart’s joy and delight. I love you!

Woman of Grace

Beloved woman, my heart is full of joy for I behold you as a woman of grace. You are one who deeply appreciate the giftedness of life and accept all that life offers you moment by moment with gratitude, faith and courage. You always find time each day even for a moment in silent celebration for the kindness and grace there is in life and your heart waxes with joyful anticipation as with the coming of a lover.

Beloved woman, my prayer and desire is that the fragrance of your life be shed like scent of flowers and inspire all towards gracious living and discover the secret joy there is in a life of grace.

Woman of Sorrow

Beloved Woman, my heart is heavy because you are grieving; the weight of centuries of oppression still lingers in your heart.

I can feel intensely the loneliness of your being abandoned, left all alone; the pain of your loved one suddenly snatched away from you; the agony of living day by day with someone you should no longer be with; the emptiness of simply being an object of desire; the weariness of toiling night and day yet not meeting what you need for your self and your little ones; the appalling experience of being disenfranchised, set aside, passed upon or simply ignored just because you are a woman.

Beloved woman, weep, shed your tears, let out the sorrow from your veins. Even just in your mind lean on my shoulders, strong with borrowed strength from him who is all power.

Then be defiant, but not desperate; seek your liberation. There is someone, more than powerful; he loves, he truly loves, he loves you, he loves the woman of sorrow. I know him for "He Touched Me. He will touch you like no other . . . and lead you to a newness beyond your wildest expectation. Seek him with all your heart and mind; and let him touch you.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart,I will be found by you . . . I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you . . . I will turn their mourning into joy,I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow (Jeremiah 29:11-14; 31:3,13 - RSV)

Woman of Prayer

Beloved woman, you are a woman of prayer. It is in your very nature to pray because it is in your nature to love; and prayer is among the highest expressions of love.

You are first of all devoted to the source of love and life – God – because you have within the depths of your being an intuition for and kinship with the creative energy that nurtures life. You have within you millenial experience of bringing forth life and it is second nature for you to turn to the source of life much as a sunflower bends towards the sun. And it is from the warm and gentle rays of the Son that you draw the tenderness that opens the hearts of man and child.

Beloved woman, I see you in those moments of silence and solitude when you rise before dawn, and with an awakened passion rise to meet the beckoning call of the Beloved.

I see you in the MetroRail, swaying stiff in the rocking cadence of noise, with closed eyes, lost in the presence of Him who draws you in the dance of stillness.

I see you in the vigil night with one hand caressing the head of your child, nourishing him back to health as with the other hand you move your fingers through beads of prayer-roses being offered to the Beloved.

I see you dancing before the Heavenly King with delight and exuberant joy, celebrating the happiness of being chosen, loved and blessed.

I see you prostrate to the ground, facing the east of hope, in centuries of reverent submission and loving obedience to the will of the Almighty.

I see you on your knees, faithful to your hour of perpetual adoration before the Altar of His Presence with the world in your heart and your heart within the Holy of Holies.

I see you transfixed before the computer screen in virtual adoration with multitudes of cyber hermits across the worldwide web.

I see you basking in the warm sunshine, caressed by the cool breeze that blows from the field yonder, crying in silent plea to the God of mercy for the many homeless children you carry in your bosom.

I see you before the open scripture in rapt attention to the inner voice that speaks to you, filling your heart’s hunger and thirst for wisdom and grace.

I see you, and you . . . and I behold with my heart’s eye the spiritual energy field encroaching the noosphere* that blankets humanity.

Beloved woman of prayer, you encompass the world in your compassionate heart and love flows forth to each and every individual you hold dear in your heart, radiating waves of vibrant, life-giving energy; and there’s no measuring the gradient of goodness that brings freshness to weary hearts and fruitfulness to barren lives.

Beloved woman of prayer, I dream that the flame in your heart enkindles the hearts of others in an ever growing circle of spirit-fire and thus we may experience in our midst the quiet yet immense power for good of a network of hearts pulsating with the spiritual energy of Divine Love.

And yes you can do it even more through all the open lines for communion, communication and transmission of the energy of love – the mental line of focused intent, the spiritual line of intercessory prayer, psychological line of empathy, the technical line of phone, text and email and through simple heart to heart sharing and word of invitation, encouragement and challenge. The Prayer: Deepening Your Friendship with God (Volume 3, Soul's Longing Series)The Transforming Power of Prayer: Deepening Your Friendship With God

Lovely Woman

Beloved woman, you are lovely. Your loveliness flows from your deep consciousness of yourself as a loveable person and from your responsiveness to your caring nature.

You are deeply aware and confident of your worth as a child of God and revel in the experience of being loved always; and from this flow your loveliness. You exude about you an aura of warmth and happiness, a sheer delight of joy in the experience of living – something which all persons seek for and relish once they felt a sense of them radiating from someone.

You can further nurture your loveliness by simply affirming to yourself these realities already experienced by you and sensed in you by others. Your personal affirmation expressed in positive words and charged with uplifting emotion radiate invisible energy that caresses the sensibility of people. Close your eyes and relish the realities of these words:

“I am a lovely person, a loveable person.”
“I delight in the love being poured upon me now.”
“I live in a world filled with love.”
“I experience love flowing to me now and closing upon me.”
“Every little things of delight in my world is love touching my
heart . . . the wind that caresses my face, the softness of the
pillow, the sweetness of the fruit I am savoring, the soothing
music that I am listening to, the tender touch of the child
beside me . . . . all are love touching and embracing me . . .”
“My heart has only room for love, and I am happy.”
“My heart radiates only love and care for others.”

Loveliness increases the more you radiate love. Practice at all times this little secret from one of the most inspiring book in the modern world
The Greatest Secret in the World by Og Mandino: in silence and to yourself address all whom you meet and say ‘I love you’ and the miracle of loveliness will flow back continuously in you.

You are lovely because you are a caring person; and your caring nature is evident, primarily in your special attention to your whole being – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. You only welcome in your person those that further your well-being: healthy food and activity that nourish your beauty and strength, feelings that uplift you and give energy for action, thoughts that create a world of light and opportunity and challenges that expand your heart towards God with devotion and towards others with love, care and service.

Woman of Power

Beloved woman, you are a woman of power. Your power, however, lies in your propensity to generate and nurture life. In your very person is encoded millennium of experience caring for life through the physical and spiritual energy of your being. The more aware you are of this power in your person, the more energy you are able to generate in you (and through you to others as well) to create, nurture, enrich and protect life.

Man has been in the rampage of war and destruction from time immemorial through all stages of his march in history; and in his blind madness he trampled upon woman and child. But you, beloved woman, you are the mother of peace; and in you, my heart leans on with great hope because your tender and gentle nature has a reservoir of life giving energy and power. This you can direct through invisible veins that connect you with your kind by bonds of sympathetic nature and with particular persons by bonds of love and affection.

You have within you half-discovered ways to generate transforming influence for good that is in keeping with the purity of your heart: the natural power of directed intent and the spiritual power of faith-filled prayer. They could be one and the same power just expressed differently according to the ground from which you stand and face the challenge of life. The first from the ground of intuitive knowing of the creative energy of one’s being, the second from the ground of faith in God.

The power of directed intent

You may connect to the creative energy of your being by harnessing the power of your thoughts and emotions and directing them towards people through your empowering intentions. Thoughts, images, emotions are energies that can flow towards your intended direction. This reality can be gleaned from the experience of sensing someone looking with focused attention towards you from behind and discovering someone really gazing at you when you look back. The energy of your being can flow to others – to people you love, even to people you don’t know personally. The image you form in your mind - especially positively and emotionally charged ones - and projected to them can be caught consciously, though oftentimes unconsciously, and influence them for good. By entering into a state of relaxed quiet, calm and peace you can create powerful thoughts and images which you can direct and project towards others, no matter where they are, and help them be lifted up to a more positive, vibrant state of being. The possibility for generating fuller life experience and transformation for other people is simply great. And this can be a simple way of making acts of love for others when you are otherwise hindered by physical distance, obstacle or some other hindrances.

The power of faith-filled prayer

For woman of faith, the reality of the power of prayer should be second nature to you. It connects you to the very wellspring of creative energy which has the power to influence and open the hearts of people and likewise change circumstances for good.

Beloved woman, you are strong in heart and mind, you have the power of loving greatly. I rejoice in knowing that you fill your world with love.

The Mystery of Woman

Woman is one beautiful mystery that shaped my life. I was about five years old when I first experienced a keen awareness of the feminine. My paternal grandfather called my attention to a beautiful girl one year older who was selling doughnuts to us. For days that girl captured my imagination. And since then I became conscious of the reality of the feminine as a distinct, unique person and who has captured my soul all my life. Every girl or woman I came close with during my younger years become like a goddess to me.

My mother was the woman that loomed large in my life not so much by her constant presence but by the tenderness and sense of pride by which she carried me in her heart and introduced me to others.

And as I came to know the Blessed Mother she became the woman par excellence, the model, the dream and the prayer wish I have for every woman to emulate; notwithstanding the contrary current that continue to be potent in my being as a man. Perhaps all of these explain my biased favor for women, why I have not related to a single woman all my life for mere sport and why I am an advocate – though hitherto a quiet one – for woman; a feminist, though in a different sense. And perhaps it is also the reason why my best friends, my closest friends and my life long friends are women.

The prayers of a mystery woman, I believed, prepared me for my definitive initiation to the deeper experience of divine mystery. She is a mystery woman since I have never known her personally and never known her name. And yet from her I owe God’s great gift of his Spirit. Sometime in my last year in high school, two itinerant women preachers in orange uniform visited our class. They stood in front of the class and shared to us about Jesus and the need to receive him in our lives and the need to receive the gift of his Spirit. They prayed for us in strange tongues, and as they were praying one of them had her eyes transfixed on me and I knew she was praying for me. And as it were, I felt like mesmerized, in an awake trance and felt a sense of mystery enveloping me. Even when they left I went to the verandah of our classroom and followed her with my eyes till she was gone.
The woman’s prayers for me were answered four years later. I was in my third year in college then. While praying with lifted arms and hands - all alone in my room at the university men’s dormitory - I suddenly felt a strong power like an electric current started to course through my hands and arms and engulfed my whole body and was filled with a strong sense of God’s love enveloping my whole being, assuring me of a place in heaven and filling me with peace and joy that transformed my awkward praises into one that flowed from within my heart like a torrent that had been released; and the more I praise him the more I experience his presence, the more I experience his love, peace and joy.

Since then I grow towards deepening love for God and, strange but not strange, my deepening appreciation and love for woman paralleled my deepening love for and devotion to God. And though the form and manner by which I live it went through change and manifold transformation, never did it wane.

Woman of Delight

Beloved woman, I delight in you. Your mere presence brings freshness to my soul. You are to me all that you are – mother, sister, friend, wife, daughter, heroine, queen, princess, helper, everything you are in your goodness all over the face of the earth. And always, a tiny glimpse of your myriad brightness in the darkness of sky is light of joy that shine in my heart.

I see you in the kaleidoscope of light that dance in the screen of my mind and transport your countless image from all over the web of light and life, binding your heart to mine. And I am alive with the knowing that “it is not good that man should be alone . . . and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man” (Genesis 2:16, 22 KJV).

Woman, you are indeed man’s delight, worthy of wholehearted devotion short of adoration as goddess friend and partner. You are precious, a treasure, a divine gift of love . . . and my heart is filled with gratitude.

Woman from the Ancients

Beloved Woman from the Ages, you are extolled as one whom “the heart of her husband trusts in her” (Proverbs 31:11, RSV) and happy indeed am I, for I have you, the one whom my heart has complete confidence, a confidence that gives me joy and peace.

More than anything else, this is what man seeks in woman for a lifetime. "A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels." (Proverbs 31:10, RSV)

Beloved woman of today, many seek and aspire to be prized and loved, and in the seeking and aspiring is brokenness and weariness of heart. Still your heart, only be – woman of grace that you are. That is the one most needed. The gold panners have keen eyes only for true gold. Miners of lesser heart, settle for less.

Woman of Music

Beloved Woman, you are the music of my heart. Music is your more eloquent language and in this you have risen to near perfection.

You have played to me in innumerable down-to-earth words and rhythms and in ethereal language of the soul. There is no better way to entrain the heart of the world from the tumult of war – inside and out – to stillness and peace as the power of your music.

Beloved Woman of Music, continue to caress the heart of man, till like a young boy he snuggles to your bosom and lay down his arms to free the Dove of Peace from its cage.

Greatness of Woman in Ordinariness

Beloved Woman, I have seen you in the many faces of great achievements in history and in today’s world. In each, you exhibit unique greatness that many will be shy to follow or feel inadequate to measure up to.

You may feel trapped in the routine of ordinariness or in the world of high level agenda. But where you are, there is a secret spring from which can flow into your life true greatness and joy. A young girl from Lisieux, France discovered this secret spring in the late 19th century. Her name is Therese. You can read more about Therese of Liseux here.

Her secret, reduced into a ‘formula’, is to do a very ordinary act – like picking up a rose – for Love, and with great love. But much is hidden in formula. So listen to her own words in Story of a Soul, a book that has inspired and continue to inspire millions. She was a yourng Catholic nun; but, regardless of belief, the heart of her story is for all women, and men as well.

Radiant Woman

Beloved woman, your radiant face is everywhere clear in my mind’s eye, overshadowing the gloom I see in your many faces from across far places and time. Would I to see radiant faces all over the world.

Woman’s radiant smile has strange power. It sends inner ripple of delight across the underlying matrix that connects the hearts of people, like an underground river flowing even beneath arid lands.

It takes the power of deep faith in the naked goodness there is in life to maintain radiance and joy even as one is beset by the challenge of daily living. And I see in your radiance a heart that drink deeply from the wellspring of life, a heart that bask in the radiance of God’s ever shining love.

Woman of Immense Power and Beauty

“I'm a being of immense power and breathtaking beauty created in the image of God.”

Beloved woman, I see you as young and seemingly frail, but your tenderness indeed masked maturity and strength, energy and passion that radiate what you affirmed in faith and intuitive knowing. You are indeed a being of immense beauty and power.

Both beauty and power emerge from a realm deep within the heart and soul of woman. There is beauty and power in the heart and inner being first before they manifest outwardly. You are woman of beauty and strength because you have nurtured within your heart all the elements of beauty – grace, serenity, joy, inner poise, confidence, loving kindness and loveliness; and you have tamed energy and passion with courage, intentionality, resolution, determination and resiliency in the pursuit of goodness through active endeavor even amidst challenge and adversity.

With the whole wide world before you I sing to you:

“Climb every mountain,
Ford every stream, follow every rainbow
Till your dream, comes true . . .”

Dream Woman

Beloved woman, I love you with an extraordinary love and devotion because I have come to know the woman par excellence – the woman nestled in the very depths of your being. She is the woman every woman truly longs to be. She is the eternal feminine - Mary, Mother of God.

“She is what every woman wants to be, when she looks at
Herself. She is the woman whom every man marries in ideal
when he takes a spouse; she is hidden as an ideal in the
discontent of every woman with the carnal aggressiveness of
of man; she is the secret desire every woman to be honored
and fostered; she is the way every woman wants to command
respect and love because of the beauty of her goodness of
body and soul. And this blueprint love whom God loved before
the world was made; this Dream Woman before women were, is
the one of whom every heart can say in its depths of depths:
“She is the Woman I love!””
Fulton J. Sheen, The World’s First Love

No matter what your beliefs are, knowing the story of Mary will not fail to inspire you with what is best a woman could ever be. You will discover a freshness that will challenge you towards a profound sense of oneness with her in experiencing the essence of woman and becoming a powerful force for good and transformation of the world.

The World’s First Love, written by a brilliant man of God in a simple and lucid manner is a moving and eloquent portrayal of Mary. It is a beautiful tapestry of light from history, philosophy and theology about the most adorable woman that ever lived.

Drink always from this well of sweet wisdom and strength. The World's First LoveThe World's First Love

Woman You Are Queen

Beloved woman, I love you as queen. I can only think of you as queen. I can only treasure you in my heart as queen. A queen has the highest dignity and honor; a rare and precious treasure like – but infinitely much more – the largest of diamond. And that is how you are to me.

My desire for you is that you remain queen for always. It may be second nature for you to live as queen; then you are rightful queen by heritage. In my heart I bow before you – you know who you are – in highest esteem, homage and respect. You may experience being queen as a matter of dream, perhaps aspiration. Or, you may experience it as an awakening to who you really are.

You are by nature queen. Whoever you are, wherever you are coming from, you have a domain where you can reign – a man’s heart or that of an adoring child, a circle of devoted friends, your dedicated workforce or a people you serve.

Beloved woman, know you are queen. Reign as queen; this is a most important dimension of your being in the world, for to reign is to love.

Love Comes To You

03 January 2009

Love is a current of energy and power with the single intent of giving life to all who are ready and willing to welcome it through all its myriad manifestations. And the way to harness its power is simply to align one’s being – body, mind and heart - with its intent. It is a power one can ride on and direct to by uniting one’s personal intention with its universal intent; being energy it goes beyond where physical being is restricted. Making powerful intention towards someone makes love flow towards her direction.

And so I am closing my eyes and directing all my attention to love and opening my heart to love’s energy, power and intent and directing them to you beloved woman. This is my prayer . . . let your heart be filled with love.

Relax yourself, close your eyes gently, silence your mind, quiet your heart and feel the love flowing in and around you – in the cool wind from your window, in the warmth from your fireplace, in the soft touch of the person beside you flame . . . . Stay calm, take time, retire yourself for a while and receive all that you long for from love . . . love gives joy. . . . peace . . . . acceptance . . . . courage . . . . confidence . . . . encouragement . . . . enthusiasm . . . . passion . . . . whatever you need at the moment. Stay. . . relish love for as long as you wish . . . .

Now open your eyes and simply drink in the presence of love around you in the minutest blessing that life has bestowed upon you. Notice them, be aware of them, feel gratitude in your heart for them, say prayer of thanks for each one of them. These things are not without life. Every bit of blessing you now enjoy vibrates with the energy of love, you can caress them and they vibrate with the pulsation of love within you.

Then, live today with love in your heart. Let it flow in your face and let its radiance shine in the radiant smile you freely give to all those around you. Let love flow everywhere, to everyone – make small and big intentions of love to all who comes to you. Wonder of wonders, love flows back to you in torrent. Just wait, it trickles in the beginning, then like a river that widens with space and time it comes to you in even surprising ways.

Today and all the days of your life welcome love coming to you. For I love you beloved woman.

Let it flow and you will never want for love anymore. Let it flow and the faint heart you have will grow strong with love.

"Spiritual energy flows in and produces effects in the phenomenal world."
